How To Sign In

To login click the "Sign In" button at the top right of your screen. You will now see the street light login page. To the right is a box with "account number:" and "billing amount:" fields. Enter your account number associated with the lights you wish to convert in "account number." Then enter your latest billing statement in "billing amount." You are now logged-in and ready to make a conversion request.




Full Account LED Conversion

After you have signed in, you'll be presented with the option to simply convert all your lights for one specific account. At the top of your screen click the "Requests" button, this will take you to the "My Requests" page. You'll then see your projected numbers for a full conversion on all the street lights for the account number you entered. If you are satisfied with what you see and everything looks correct, click and check the "I understand and would like to continue" box. Then click the "Request Complete LED Conversion" button. Your request is now ready to be verified by PPL.


Create Custom Request

If you wish to select a specific set of lights click the "Create Custom Request" button at the top left of the my request screen. You'll now see a screen with map and a side panel on the left side of your screen. The map will have all your lights for your account surrounded by a polygon. You can click and drag the polygon around a section of lights of your choosing. Once your shape is complete cost numbers will populate the left side panel on your screen. Above the "Summary Info" you will see "click to name request" with a save and delete button below. Click on "click to name my request" to name your request. You may name your request anything you wish. If you are satisfied with what you see, check the "I understand and would like to continue" box and click the "Submit Request" button. Your request is now ready to be verified by PPL.


Terminology

Bill Code

A number that designates the type of streetlight and pole for billing purposes.

Distribution Charge

A monthly charge to recover the costs of maintanining and repairing LED streetlights or area lights. It separately also refers to the cost to deliver power from high-voltage transmission lines (see Transmission Charge) and safely step down voltage for use in homes or businesses.

Generation Charge

Monthly charge for the cost of the production or purchase of electricity.

Inordinate Investment Charge(ICC)

Is a cost associated with the installation of decorative lighting fixtures. These lights are more expensive and therefore have an additional, one-time fee.

kWh (Kilowatt-hour)

A measure of the use of electricity. One kilowatt-hour equals the amount of electricity used by ten 100-watt lights left on for one hour.

Lamp Change Charge

If your street light is 11 years or older you will not have to pay an additional cost to convert your light. If your street light is 10 years or younger you will have to pay an additional cost. Every year that passes your lamp change charge for your street light will be less expensive. The first year is the most expensive charge.

Lumens

A measure of the total "amount" of visible light emitted by a source.

Transmission Charge

Monthly charge to recover the cost of moving electricity over high-voltage transmission lines from generation facilities to PPL Electric Utilities distribution lines (see Distribution Charge)
